Lidl Autumn/Winter 2016 Coat Collection

Years ago to get a decent Winter coat you'd have had to splash out a small fortune to get one that was both stylish and warm but Lidl have genuinely out done themselves with their new 2016 coat collection and I'm obsessed.
I've gotten a sneak peak at the upcoming season and we are in for a treat believe me, layering is key this Winter so make sure to keep an eye out for Lidl's faux fur gilet hitting stores in November which will only set you back €14.99. With the new Premium collection by Esmara launching we're going to see a much wider variety in Lidl from knitted jumpers, ankle boots and making a debut is a range of gorgeous underwear.
The range will feature lace bras (€7.99) with matching underwear (€6.99) in several shades such as cream, grey and dusty pink. These will be landing in December.

Anyway back to the reason I'm writing this blog ...the coats!! When it comes to Winter coats I probably have about 5 good warm coats but how many do I wear ?? One, I wear the same one every day of Winter and have done for the past four years so this year I've promised myself to widen my horizons and invest in some new coats. It wasn't until I came across the press release for Lidl that I realised my Winter hunt had become a lot easier.

My favourite piece from this collection is this gorgeous grey coat which is a steal at only €24.99
This is the piece that really caught my eye from the minute I saw the collection, Autumn is all about layering and I love how this coat was shown in the pic above, kept open with a knitted dress, if that doesn't scream Winter I don't know what will.

It's all about the grey colour this Winter and Lidl have really kept with this theme by releasing this coat for €24.99. The pricing is so reasonable especially with the Lidl quality being surprisingly brilliant.
The third coat I'm in love with is this black 'you can do no wrong' coat and for €24.99 why wouldn't you head to your local Lidl and pick it up?? It will go with everything and can dress up an outfit so well, no matter what you're wearing, no matter what colour it is this is literally the most perfect priced accessory to go with it this Winter.
And there you have three of my favourite coats from the new Autumn/Winter collection, there are so many more fashion pieces coming your way from now until December but definitely go to your local store and pick up one of these coats while stocks last...I'm in love!!

The First Day Of Halloween 🎃👻

Oi Oi
It's officially here and I couldn't be more excited, now that it's October 1st it's Halloween and I couldn't be any more excited if I tried. Yano that feeling you got as a child on Christmas eve? well, that's right now. Laugh if you must but I adore Halloween for so many reasons it's my favourite day of the year and this post is just a small introduction to why I love Halloween and what's to come on my blog over the next four weeks.
First things first what do I have planned for Little Piece Of Lynda throughout the month of October? Yesterday over on my facebook I gave you a little intro but going into more detail coming this week I have a list of ten spooky alternatives to do over Halloween which has been one of my favorite posts to write. I love a real traditional Halloween but trust me when I say there's so much going on that we've no idea about and just..wow!!
I'm also going to go into the history of Halloween but made super fun, I'll have reviews, movies to watch just so much coming up which I hope you're going to enjoy!!
Now back to my obsession with Halloween, I did write a post about this before which you can check outhere  but summing up that post my love for Halloween goes back years, I was definitely a witch in my past life there's no doubt about it and this year I have my own little black cat 'Luna' as a real life prop so I really am embracing my past life.
Something that's always played on my mind is my childhood and how amazing it was ans one of my favourite memories was October 31st every year, it was the one day a year that truthfully made me so happy I could cry even to this day when thinking about Halloween I could cry with a mixture of happiness and nostalgia if there's one thing I'm sure of in this life it's that my child will have as much fun on Halloween as I did growing up.

My love for the history of Halloween came from my days in primary school, each week our fifth class teacher would make us do a 'know, want to know and learned' on different topics and one week it was Halloween. We got a sheet with the history of the day and that was it I was hooked I think that's where the real obsession came, I knew everything there is to know about Halloween and when it was over I'd cry myself to sleep...weird isn't it?!

I know I haven't really answered why I love the day so much but truthfully I don't know myself all I know is I'm going to do my very best over the next four weeks to make you love it as much as me!! ;)

Also just a little tip if you want to see all my 2016 Halloween posts then click these emojis '🎃👻' at the end of this post and it will bring you to them all.

GOMO - The Fall Bucket List

First things first has anyone not ever heard of Eventbrite? Has anyone heard of it but has no idea what it was? Yep that second option was me before I heard out about their new project 'GOMO' ...'GOMO' what the heck was GOMO I had heard of 'FOMO' (Fear Of Missing Out) as I planned on attending a FOMO night in the Foundry Carlow later that week but GOMO???!! GOMO I found out stood for 'Going out more often' -Eventbrite will change the way the events are planned in the future, it's exactly what the event management industry needs. Don't believe me??? check it out their page for event management for yourself.
If you're a regular reader of my blog you'll understand my love for going out and doing stuff, if there's one thing I hate it's being stuck inside every single day especially when it's Autumn, my favourite season and Eventbrite has the same idea 'we plan on getting people away from Netflix and Chill, and into the habit of GOMO (Going Out More Often) to make the most of fall this yearand on that note, I was in and the research began.
I took it upon myself to find ten things to do around Ireland this Autumn and believe me when I say there's so much more going on under our nose that we don't realise.

1. Lisdoonvarna Matchmaking Festival - Clare

One of the oldest traditions in Ireland is matchmaking and one of the only true matchmakers left in Ireland is Willie Daly who runs a pub in Ennistymon and each year he attends the Lisdoonvarna festival making it the most popular matchmaking event of the year.
For the month of September dances run from 12 noon each day until the early hours of the morning and if anything think of the fun that could be had, let alone finding your one true match.
To find out a little bit more head on over to their website - http://www.matchmakerireland.com/

2. The Nightmare Realm  - Cork
With it being Autumn, my favourite day is quickly approaching HALLOWEEN and what better to get you in the mood for this spooky day than to be spooked silly at the nightmare realm. I think everyone has heard of this before but it's basically a haunted house that comes back every year and it's definitely on the agenda for this year. Check out the website here - https://www.thenightmarerealm.ie/index.html

 3. Loftus Hall - Wexford
Sticking with the Halloween theme and off to the most haunted house in Ireland and on the most special time, it's the 666 anniversary of Loftus Hall. The story of this house is beyond interesting and it's something I'm fascinated by especially with it being so close to Halloween.
I'll be there over Halloween so if you go too be sure to let me know if you do head on down to Wexford over the upcoming weeks. You can check out the website here - http://loftushall.ie/

4. Drive In Cinema - This is something I have always wanted to do but have never had the chance but now that I know there's one so locally I'll definitely be going there this Autumn I don't know there's something about it so old fashioned and cool about it so it's definitely on the bucket list.
There's so many unreal films coming up over the next few weeks, from Pretty Woman to Toy Story there's such a huge variety, keep an eye on on their website and keep me posted on your experience http://www.underground-cinema.com/drive-in-movies.

5. The Young Offenders - Nationwide
Sticking with movies now and I know this post is about getting away from that 'Netflix' but in my opinion there's nothing better than a trip to the cinema it's just one of my favourite things to do and when I was last there and saw a trailer for The Young Offenders I almost choked on a popcorn kernel it looked amazing and I cannot wait to go and see this flick, just watch the trailer becuase I can't explain this movie - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qK-JHjKJRmw

6. The Ploughing Championships - Offaly
Everyone in the country knows about the ploughing championships and shame on you if you haven't ever been that being said I have only been there the once and that was in Transition Year in school and it was without a doubt one of the best days of my life. I know I'm not giving you heaps of notice but the championships run from tomorrow (20th) to the 22nd and if you happen to have the day off then you should definitely get yourself off to Offaly. You can read more on their webpage which you can look at here.

7. Comedy Carnival - Galway
Everyone loves a bit of a giggle and one thing I've always wanted to do and never got the chance too was go to a comedy festival.
This year I'm going to do it and the Galway fest is without a doubt on my bucket list.
The event runs from October 25th to the 31st and has some of the country's top comedians such as Tommy Tiernan, Jason Manford, Rubberbandits, PJ Gallagher and Jason Byrne to name but a few. If you want to find out a little bit more then head over to their page here.

8. Dunbrody Famine Ship - New Ross

I couldn't make a fall bucket list without including my favourite place in the country and that is the Dunbrody Famine Ship in New Ross. All my life this was my favorite day out and if you have never been it's something you need to put on your bucket list right now.
Take a step into our historic past and experience the story of the potato famine and see what our ancestors had to go through, it's such an eye opener and you need to check it out. It's open 7 days a week and 9-6 and don't even ask questions just GO!!! - Check out their page here- http://www.dunbrody.com/

9. Freshers Week - The Foundry, Carlow
WAHHEYYYY ME BOYYY!!! - I moved to Carlow last year when I began studying media and public relations and for the life of me I don't remeber one thing about Freshers week...did it happen? did I go? who was playing? Na I've not a clue but this year....OH WOW!!
This years line up is unreal, my favourite DJ in the country Stephen Power is there along with THE BINGO PLAYERS!!! and so much more but I'll leave you discover that yourself check out the Foundry's facebook page to keep up to date with everything and watch this video....just do it ;)

 10. Festival Of Food - Kilkenny This is a one for all you foodies out there and I'll definitely be in attendance and you should be too. This is the perfect day out for families with food stalls showcasing local produce and some of the country's top TV chefs demonstrating how to cook it's the perfect day out.
It's running from the 28th to the 31st of October and you can find out a little bit more here http://www.savourkilkenny.com/

And there you have it ten things around Ireland that are on my bucket list and should be on yours too, there's so much going on under our noses that we don't even know about. I have a special Halloween inspired post coming for you very soon so keep your eyes posted for that too

Why I Love Autumn And You Should Too

Autumn is my favourite season without a doubt summer is over rated, winter is too cold and miserable but Autumn it's the perfect season. I don't know if I can actually put into words my perfect 'day feeling' like you know a day that like feels ...perfect??? I'd say I've lost you but take away doing anything during that said day like not what you're at it's just the feeling and atmosphere of that day you get me????
Well, my perfect 'day feeling' is in October, early morning with bright blue skies, sun blaring and breathing fresh cold air...that is my perfect day feeling and to me that's what Autumn is all about.
After someone recently asked me 'what's so great about Autumn anyway?' I easily listed off every single thing great about my favourite season so here are 13 reasons why I love Autumn and you should too.

Number 1: Scarves, Hats and Gloves
One of the best things about it being Autumn is that it's finally cold enough to wrap up and get cuddly. I adore scarves and must have at least 57 different colours in my wardrobe just dying to get worn.

Number 2: My Birthday
IT'S MA BIRTHDAY, IT'S MA BIRTHDAY!!
One of my favourite things about it finally reaching Autumn is that on the 21st of August every year it's my birthday and normally I hate becoming that one year older but with turning the big 21 this year I'm so excited that it's finally my birth month.

Number 3: Halloween
One of my most favourite things in the world is Halloween, ask anyone I am obsessed and Halloween is the greatest day of the year. Being honest if Halloween was in Summer, summer could possibly be my favorite season but it's not it's in Autumn and I love it.

Number 4: Bonfires/ Fireworks
Okay....this is controversial becuase I am terrified of fire but when it comes to Halloween I love a good bonfire, there's also nothing I love more than being out strolling around on an Autumn night and hearing fireworks exploding in the sky. As much as it seems to be dying out these days they're strong Autumn loves for me.

Number 5: The Colour
To me the world just gets prettier in Autumn, the leaves turn golden they fall the sun seems brighter the air is crispy everything just looks so so pretty and no one can deny it.

Number 6: Smell Of Wood Fires
When I get the smell of a fire burning wood the first thought that comes into my head is HALLOWEEN!! It's one of my favorite smells in the world and there's nair a wiff of it in the air spring or summer so you have to love Autumn for that reason alone!!

Number 7: Comfort Food
Autumn is all about those real home comforts, pies, soups, stews anything that will warm your insides out thoroughly after a day outside is the perfect food for Autumn.
Tying in with our number 8 is also - Hot Drinks - Hot chocolate on a daily basis, bottles of tea...hot whiskeys ;) ;) ;)

Number 9 - Pumpkins
Pumpkins, Pumpkins, Pumpkins--- my favourite things in the world are pumpkins!! How can you not love them? Every year I make a big day out of going pumpkin shopping, I get the girls and we head over to the main street to pick the ripest, biggest, most perfect pumpkin that you can buy.
Then there's the carving, the playing with their insides the overall appearance of them.. I just love them!!

Number 10 - Cold crisp morning walks
I love morning walks as it is but when it's early in the Autumn with cold air and mist then I'm the happiest girl on the planet, I love strolling along, ipod on, kings of leon playing...oh the dream.

Number 11 - Rugby
YES - We all know one of the only bad things about summer is the fact the rugby season comes to an end but what happens in September??? rugby is back and weekends are planned around Thomond Park, oh and those Munster hunks are back on the television.

Number 12- Countdown To Christmas
WAHHEYYYY- Yes you know it's true you can finally officially start counting how many Fridays to go before the big man comes down the chimney!!

Number 13 - Out We Go
And on the last note one of my favourite things about Autumn is that it gets dark an hour earlier, and when it comes to a Saturday night that just means you get to go out an hour earlier.. whoop whoop!!

And there you have it 13 things I love about Autumn and you should too..
